- Charles Darwin. Charles Darwin was born on 12th February 1809, and was an English naturalist, biologist and geologist. He's widely known for his theory of biological evolution by natural selection.
- Sir Isaac Newton. Sir Isaac Newton was born on 4th January 1643 (according to the Gregorian calendar that's used today), and is a famous scientist due to his important discovery: the laws of gravity.
- George Washington Carver. George Washington Carver was born in January 1864, and was an agricultural chemist. He discovered that if the farmers planted a crop with lots of protein, the soil nutrients the cotton plants needed would return (as growing cotton took lots of nutrients from the soil).
- Rachel Carson. Rachel Carson was born in 1907 and was an American marine biologist and conservationist. When looking at famous scientists, Rachel is remembered as someone who warned people about the dangers of chemicals in the ocean.
