Rosa María Almirall Martínez (25 June 1954 – 15 February 2012), known by the stage name Lina Romay, was a Spanish actress and filmmaker. She often appeared in films directed by her long-time companion, and later husband, Jesús Franco. She appeared in approximately 109 Franco films made over a 30-year period, from 1973 to 2010.
Biography. She was born in 1919 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Porfirio Romay, then-attache to the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles. [1] Romay performed for a time with Xavier Cugat [2] before eventually retiring. She was featured on Cugat Rumba Revue on NBC radio in the early 1940s. [3]

Lina Romay. Biography. Latin-American singer/actress Lina Romay was active in films from 1942 to 1952. She came to Hollywood under contract to Columbia, then worked briefly at MGM and RKO. In 1949, she began a three-year run as featured vocalist on the TV series Paul Whiteman's Goodyear Revue.
