Marlborough College is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) for pupils aged 13 to 18 in Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. Founded in 1843 for the sons of Church of England clergy, it is now co-educational.
Jan 18, 2022 · The construction of a great mound began just over 4,000 years ago, resulting in the monument now dominating the centre of the College. It is the second biggest Neolithic mound in Europe; the largest is Silbury Hill, located five miles to our west. The Marlborough Mound is a 19-metre monument that has been carbon dated to 2,400 BC.
Founded in 1843, Marlborough College is the UK’s largest co-educational full boarding school, educating just over 1,000 pupils, aged 13 to 18 years, from the UK and overseas. Whilst we are proud of our Anglican heritage, ours is an inclusive ethos, welcoming pupils of all faiths and none.
