Wolfram Maria Kons or Tungsten Cons (born June 7, 1964 in Dusseldorf) is a German journalist and television presenter. He briefly hosted a revival of the German version of the American game show The Price is Right as Der Preis ist heiß! (The Price is Hot!) as of which this time it air on RTLPlus from 2017 until 2018.
Wolfram Kons who has three brothers spent his childhood in Neuss - Selikum. He graduated after graduating from Alexandra von Humboldt-Gymnasium Neuss a law degree and a journalistic internship at Radio Gong 96.3 in Munich. From 1983, h was a reporter and from 1987 host on various radio stations. He has worked at RTL since 1991. There he presented the RTL early magazine Guten Morgen Deutschland (Good Morning Germany) in Luxembourg and was an author at WDR, He has also been producing travel reports for Die Welt (The World) since 1993.
In between, hosted Cons at DW-TV the political magazine positions and for RTL II the broadcast advertising drum. From 1994, he was host and senior editor at RTL morning magazine Punkt 7 (Point 7), successor to Guten Morgen Deutschland (Good Morning Germany). Since 1997, he has been presenting the RTL program Punkt 6 (Point 6) and since 2000 Punkt 9 (Point 9) which were renamed Guten Morgen Deutschland (Good Morning Germany) in 2013.
In addition, Kons has been hosting the 24-hour RTL donation marathon since 1996. Together with Ulrich Potofski, he also commented on the RTL program Domino Day from 1998 to 2009. For his commitment to charity programs on German television, he was awarded the Federal Medal of Merit by the then Federal President Horst Kohler in 2004. In 2005, he became communications director at RTL and took over the overall management of the RTL Charity and RTL Foundations. From May 5, 2008, he also hosted quiz show 1 gegen 100 (1 against 100) the German version of Dutch game show Een tegen 100 (One Against 100) as of which in terms from all over the world is called 1 vs. 100 which was broadcasted on RTL from Monday thru Friday at 5:00 p.m. until the end of 79 episodes. In December 2013, he hosted four programs of the Sunday magazine sonntags.live together with Anne-Katrin Schroder.
In 2012, Kons dubbed the badger "Gupta" in the CGI film Ice Age 4: Voll Verschoben (Ice Age 4: Totally Moved) or in America called Ice Age 4: Continental Drift.
As mentioned above, in 2017, Kons has briefly hosted a revival of the German version of the American game show The Price is Right called Der Pries ist Heist! (The Price is Hot!) which aired on RTLPlus until its end in 2018.
Kons was with Maxi Biewer until 1996 and for eleven years with the Berlin fashion agent Angela van Moll to the end of 2010. Since August 2012, he has been married to art historian Alexa Apermann (b. 1978) who gave birth to their son on June 28, 2012 named Wolfram Wilhelm Markus Maximilian. The family lives in the Neuss district Reuschenberg.
