John Frederick Dryer (born July 6, 1946) is an American actor, radio host, and former professional football player. He was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 years, participating in 176 games starting in 1969 until his retirement in 1981.
Fred was a first team “Little All-American” and represented the “Aztecs” in the East-West Shrine Game in San Francisco, California and the Hula Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii. In January 1969, Fred was the thirteenth overall pick in the NFL draft — selected in the first round by the New York Giants.
