Aug 9, 2016 · EAST MOUNTAIN – Barry Babcock of Calgary scored a hole-in-one at the recent Brian MacLeod Memorial blind golf tournament at Mountain Golf Club. Babcock, 83, made the ace at the 172-yard seventh hole, using a five-iron. It was the third hole-in-one for the former club pro at Paragon.
He learned the fundamentals of the golf swing, as a junior, from CPGA Professional Barry Babcock and how to play the game from perrenial Nova Scotia Amateur champion Gerry MacMillan.
Wib and Barry Babcock have been and continue to be my mentors in the industry and I am forever grateful for all they’ve given and helped me with. Currently I am the Director, Competitions and Athlete Development with Alberta Golf along with a Class ’A’ Teaching Professional based out of Earl Grey.
