About the LLQP exam. The LLQP exam is comprised of four modules that cover the curriculum outlined in the pre-requisite course. It is administered by Durham College and is available online and in-person.

The Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP) was created to ensure a minimum standard of competence and understanding amongst Canadian life insurance agents. Online Proctored Exams. Durham College uses the online proctoring service “Examity” for mid-term and final exams held through our online courses. To complete an online proctored exam, all that is required is a computer, a web cam and a high-speed Internet connection.
Life and Health Insurance Planning. This course introduces students to the Canadian Insurance Industry and is a preparatory course for provincial licensing requirements for those who wish to sell life insurance and other life insurance products in Canada.

The LLQP comprises four competencies: Develop an ethical professional practice in compliance with the rules governing the life insurance sector and insurance of persons sector (including group insurance of persons). Recommend individual and group life insurance products adapted to the client’s needs and situation.

The LLQP is a required education program in order to obtain your licence to solicit and sell life and/or accident & sickness insurance products. Two types of licences are available through the LLQP: Accident and Sickness Insurance Representative Licence. Life Insurance Representative Licence.
All LLQP exams are now written online through our approved external provider, Durham College. Durham College online exam schedules are available here . In-person LLQP exams are no longer being scheduled.
