Eligibility for premium ride types also includes factors like driver rating, number of rides completed and vehicle attributes. Availability of each ride type varies by region. All vehicles must comply with any city and state requirements for your area and for the listed ride option.
Oct 18, 2023 · Qualifying drivers with high-end vehicles can earn more with our premium ride types: XL: Rides for up to 6 passengers in vehicles with at least 7 seatbelts. Extra Comfort: Rides in newer vehicles with experienced drivers.

Lyft is changing premium ride types starting October 18, 2023, through the beginning of November 2023. When the changes go into effect in your region, Preferred and Lux rides will no longer be available, and a new mode, Extra Comfort, will launch.
