Tulane definitely has that northeast college feel, but with better weather (with the obvious exception of summer). All of my classes were small (being in the honors program helped with that), and I only encountered one auditorium-style class, which was a 101 class at the time.
A typical Tulane student must complete at least 120 credit hours in order to graduate; in most cases, a student’s major program of study will make up approximately 30 of those hours. The average course counts for 3 credit hours.

My program's (EBIO) department has been fantastic; great professors and interesting classes. Other departments/programs are not as strong here so it depends on what you intend to study. Do a lot of research to see what you are interested in! There is also a lot of choice and flexibility which is really nice.
