Know where they were living but cannot seem to find the street on the 1901 or 1911 census. Thought it was in Smithfield but can't find it although I have trolled through many wards trying to locate it.

John Morrow flax dresser is at 17 North Boundary St from circa 1877 until 1900 with address given as 7 Christopher St at time of death, 16th January 1901 aged 77. 1901 census has John Morrow aged 52 but I believe this should be 59 as this age ties in with 1911 census and age on death certificate.

I can remember traveling from the city hall & getting of the bus near a large cross roads, ( I know this is a long shot but ) the building on the left through the lights was painted black.

  4. Oct 12, 2008 · Re: Letitia Street Old Photos. Hi Letitia Street was off Wilson Street which ran from Millfield to Sackville street. Where Sackville Court is today would have been Letitia St. a small cul-de-sac of about 10 houses. Check out PRONI's maps online.

  6. Nov 23, 2007 · This is the best arch I have ever seen. I always admired it from I was a kid. There was another one erected in the Wilson Street, the next street around the mid 1960s. It was opened by the rev. Ian.The Building on the right was the school my father went to. Can anyone tell me the name of the wee shop on the corner of Gardiner Street/Brown Street.

Jun 12, 2017 · The location is 3 and 5 Letitia street, Belfast, my relatives married in 1899 and they had a first born in June 1901 also listed as that address, but after the census date 31 March 1901. The husband was in the Army and his discharge address was also given as 5 Letitia Street, apparently it is off Wilson St and in 1911 is in Smithfield Ward district.

I think this was later known as the Glenmachan Towers Hotel although there may have been a similar large house. He also had a home at Sackville Street, Dublin. He was a member of the Carlton Club, London.

He enlisted in Belfast 20th August 1914 aged 20 and 8 months he was a Flax Dresser. He was discharged because of wounds 11th January 1917. He was awarded the Silver War Badge because of his wounds.
