Synopsis. 18 years ago, the Darr family, consisting of Pushkaran (Yatin Karyekar) and his son, Kunal (Kunal Khemu), were forced to leave Kashmir by terrorists, who had forced thousands of other Kashmiri Pandits to be mere refugees in their very own country. Pushkaran and Kunal re-locate to Bombay, where they live in a small room.

Kalyug is a 2005 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. It introduces actor Kunal Khemu, in his debut film as an adult actor. It also stars Emraan Hashmi, Smilie Suri, Deepal Shaw, Amrita Singh and Ashutosh Rana.
Unlike Junoon, Shashi did not volunteer to play Karan in Kalyug - while the role was, without a doubt, pivotal to the film’s plot, it still had only a supporting function. Instead Shashi wished to play the lead as Dharamraj, and planned to offer Amitabh Bachchan the part of Karan.
