   There is a nice layout of unpaved trails but very flat terrain. The park map shows those trails bring bug spray and a snack. Nice water views and places to enjoy lunch. The Bicycle Post shop in Greenville owns and maintains a series of trails about 8 miles from town that mountain bike riders characterize as "very technical and challenging."

   Goose Creek State Park is located just a few miles east of Washington on the Pamlico River. The park features 8 miles of hiking trails, a campground, picnic sites, and a beach for swimming. We visited in the fall when the colors were changing and it was quite beautiful.
