They're very similar in their city culture & vibe. Seattle has better access to nature but its double the cost of living of Chicago. You'll make more in Seattle if you're in tech but you'll make more in Chicago if you work in finance. Weather isn't too different.

I’ve lived in a bunch of cities: NYC, a proper “big city”. Providence is teensy but a city. Boston is a bunch of small cities duct taped together, but it’s still a city. Personally I’d say it’s barely medium sized. Seattle is a “big city”. It’s definitely bigger than Boston but smaller than NYC.
