Polite Leader is the main antagonist of the movie The Purge. He is portrayed by Australian actor Rhys Wakefield.

While his minions are scattered all over the Sandin's yard, someone by the front door introduces themselves to be well educated guys and gals, a type of people which he includes the innocent family as thanks to their wealth and blue flowers that support the purge. He informs them that the night of which they were supposed to enjoy by the slaughter of the stranger, took a turn when he escaped, killing one of them in the process. How they found out where he was, was info given from the neighbours, something that the boss disapproved of and was disappointed in only because the stranger is homeless, and a so-called pig that needs to be put back in his place. A proposition for mercy is made, for he tells the family that to live they need to hand over the man alive, before some provisions arrive that will help to break in, even though the entire house is locked up in highly secured barricades. Though he expresses that he doesn't want to do that because of the family being "one of their own", it's still an option. After the plea "please just let us purge", he leaves to let the Sandins make up their mind.

Briefly he and his army of freaks are watched through the cameras playing around, with him also having a little date with the girls of the group. Later on, his patience has shown to run low, asking James why it's taking so long to deliver the stranger, to the point that he thinks they're protecting him. Listening to Jame's explanation, all he could do was laugh in entertainment until one of his men snapped and demanded that they have the man, his mouth causing himself a shot in the head, which is apologised for because it's not the type of behaviour the boss condemned. However, he calls the one he just killed a friend, with James meaning nothing to him. He gives a final warning that the provisions are not so far away, coldness tuned into his voice as he recommends James to hurry before it all comes down for them to fight. Once mr Sandin leaves, so does he while two others clean up the corpse.

A toot outside says it all that they're too late. Mary peeks out at the darkness, hearing the boss's voice command his team to put chains on every single barricade and eventually bring it down. Now that the time is up, he screams out disappointment and farewells the Sandins as this will be the last peaceful meeting they have between each other, signalling his group to "let the killing commence".

The barricades come down and all of them welcome themselves into the household, one minion opening up the entrance gate to let the boss in. Through an entire battle of finishing off the masked army, he steps out of the shadows finally and stabs Jame's stomach, showing a bit of regret in it while lying James down gently. It saddens him that James picked to make his family fight for the safety of the stranger, thanking him for "an unforgettable" purge. Walking away, he's shot multiple times with his final appearance being his dead corpse
