Roy Kenneth Ackerman CBE (22 February 1942 – 16 May 2017) was an English restaurateur who owned the Gay Hussar and L'Etoile restaurants and published the Ackerman Guides and Egon Ronay restaurant guides.
Biography. Roy Ackerman is an English television executive producer. He originally joined Diverse Productions as a researcher in 1984. He was Creative Director of Diverse Productions until he stepped down in April 2009 to join Fresh One Productions, the company founded by Jamie Oliver, in June 2009.

May 18, 2017 · Roy Ackerman, restaurateur, hotelier, consultant, TV producer and a patron of film and art, has died aged 75 following a stroke. He was appointed OBE in 1990 for his contribution to tourism and training and received a CBE in 2000 for services to gastronomy.
