There are some pretty cool sunset spots in the city to visit. Here are my favorites for you to enjoy, too.

    • Lands End Trail. Lands End Trail is the perfect place to go to watch the sunset if you consider yourself to be the outdoorsy type. The trail leads to The Lands End Lookout, located about 1.5 miles away from the start of the path.
    • Mori Point. If you are looking for a hike that will lead you to a one-of-a-kind Bay Area sunset, head to Mori Point. As part of the Golden Gate National Park Conservancy, this hiking area is pretty untouched by civilization.
    • Battery Spencer. The Battery Spencer Overlook gives you as close to a bird’s eye view of the San Francisco Bay as you can get without actually being able to fly.
    • Twin Peaks. Often touted as the best views in San Francisco, Twin Peaks far exceeds the hype. With peaks almost 1,000 feet above San Francisco, Twin Peaks offers 360-degree views in all directions.
    • Lands End Lookout. There’s nothing quite like watching the sun go down over the Pacific Ocean. Lands End Lookout and Sutro Baths are San Francisco must sees: offering up the type of sunset you see in California tourism ads, the kind that convinced me to move here in the first place.
    • Bernal Heights. You may recognize Bernal Heights from all those Instagram photos of people on a tree swing overlooking the city. Unfortunately, that swing has recently been taken down, but the view remains as spectacular as ever, making this spot one of the most photogenic spots in San Francisco.
    • Grizzly Peak, Berkeley. The winding roads leading to Grizzly Peak, located at the top of Tilden Regional Park, are both intimidating and full of promise.
