As for Laurel Heights, it is a newer school and overall staff and students seem to enjoy it. It has great facilities (one of the best in the region) and a good sports program. It also has a lot of special education magnet programs if that is needed.
One of my biggest concerns is making sure our kids go to good schools. What are your thoughts on Capital High School vs. Olympia High School? I know the Olympia School District is fantastic, so maybe they'll be fine either way, but on Great Schools, Capital is a 6/10 while Olympia is a 10/10.
Jun 14, 2024 · 331 reviews. Capital High School is overall a good school. For high-achieving students I find that academics can sometimes fall short but all in all the staff is wonderful. It was a fun time being at capital but the administration is quite struggling and the disciplinary program is very lackluster.
At Capital High School, we believe that in order to be a successful student, every member of our school community must practice being prompt, prepared, and polite, every day. Because instruction is a priority at our school, students are expected to arrive to class on time.

Capital High School does a good job preparing students to go wherever they choose, whether that's a two-year college, four-year college, military, or right into work with careers in drafting or welding. They do make note that college isn't for everyone and there are other options.
