Take a glimpse into Matamata’s pioneering history at Firth Tower Museum, located just 2km from town on Tower Rd. The museum occupies the site of the former 56,000 acre Matamata Estate, established by Auckland entrepreneur Josiah Firth in 1882.
Join the Matamata Historical Society for their annual book fair! Held at Matamata Memorial Centre. Open 9am to 4pm Wednesday 9th - Friday 11th October. 9am to 2.30pm Saturday 12th October.
