Located in Greater Boston, the town holds a place of great prominence in American history, folklore, and culture, and is known as "America's Hometown".

- Plimoth Patuxet Museums: 17th-Century English Village. Several historic sites are now under the umbrella of Plimoth Patuxet Museums (formerly known as Plimoth Plantation), the largest of which is the 17th-century English Village.
