Probably an assumption. It stands to some reason that the type of people who get to this level in women's soccer are either 1) really good, and/or 2) children of rich parents who can afford the startup costs of the current non-existent academy system.
Morgan has always been a pure 9 with decent vision and passing, but that doesn’t make her a false 9 or10. She was always going to lose some pace, but can more than make up for that with positioning, anticipation and technique. She still has all of these things. It’s just incompatible with Vlatkoball. The biggest problem is Alex has lost a step and no longer makes runs to get in dangerous spots often enough. Emma could fix that with coaching . Currently with Big Fish out the USWNT is without a world class center forward. Most of the forwards we talk about are wingers . Cat could be a solution.
