Girona (Catalan: [ʒiˈɾonə] ⓘ; Spanish: Gerona ⓘ) is the capital city of the province of Girona in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain, at the confluence of the Ter, Onyar, Galligants, and Güell rivers.
- The Jewish Quarter. The Jewish Quarter in Girona is one of the best preserved in the world. From 982 to 1492, Jews lived in Girona. The area where they lived, called El Call, is a maze of narrow, winding, cobblestoned lanes, still intact and very much like they were over 500 years ago.
- For the Best Views, Walk on the Medieval Walls. Also called the Passeig de la Muralla, a walk on the medieval walls is a must-do activity while in Girona.
- Walk Across Eiffel Bridge. Gustav Eiffel constructed a bridge in Girona just before the Eiffel Tower was built. Also called the Pont de les Peixateries Velles, this bridge spans the Onyar River and is the most famous in Girona.
- Onyar River View. The Onyar River runs through the heart of Girona. See it from Pont Pedra, Eiffel Bridge, or one of several other bridges that span the river.
- Wall Walk. Girona’s imperious walls were first built by the Romans but were expanded in the time of Charlemagne in the early 800s and then enlarged again in the 14th century.
- Girona Cathedral. One of the most majestic scenes in the city is the view from the bottom of the stairway at Plaça de la Catedral up to this almost-monolithic building and its baroque facade.
- El Call. When you consider that Spain’s Jews were expelled by the Catholic Monarchs way back at the end of the 15th century it’s remarkable that so much of Girona’s Jewish Quarter should still be here.
- Museum of Jewish History. This attraction in El Call sheds more light on what life was like in the Girona’s Jewish quarter, and you’ll also find out about the role the Jewish community had in the city’s medieval development.

- Girona Cathedral. Girona Cathedral, officially called the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Girona, is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in the old town of Girona.

- Arab Baths. History lovers will not want to miss a trip to the well-preserved Arab Baths, which are right around the corner from the cathedral and basilica.
