There is no road access to Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park – visitors must hike, ride (on horse) or fly in by helicopter. Mount Assiniboine PP and the most popular access routes can be seen on Parks Canada’s Banff National Park backcountry map.
Getting there. Mount Assiniboine Park is west of the British Columbia-Alberta border, 48 km southwest of Banff. Banff National Park forms the eastern boundary and Kootenay National Park marks the western boundary. You can access the park by hiking in or by using the Mount Assiniboine Lodge helicopter service.
