W. D. Liam Finn, with B.Eng., from the National University of Ireland and M.Sc. and Ph.D from the University of Washington in Seattle, came to UBC in 1961. He started the first program of geotechnical earthquake engineering in Canada at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver.
Liam Mullane Finn is a New Zealand singer and musician. Born in Melbourne, Australia, he moved to New Zealand as a child. He is the son of musicians Sharon and Neil Finn.
