'Turning Red' appealed to me immediately when looking for things to watch when on a three week cruise last year where there was a lot of film and television watching in the evenings and on the at sea days. Really liked the concept, unique for Pixar, and the message.

Disney and Pixar’s 'Turning Red' introduces Mei Lee (voiced by Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voiced by Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager.
Turning Red. The number 4 is considered unlucky in Chinese culture; it sounds similar to the word for "death" in both Mandarin and Cantonese. The temple was inspired by the Bok Kai Temple, a historical landmark in Marysville, California that was built by the local Chinese community in 1880. A special thanks is made in the credits.
