Steven Shih Chen was born on 25 August 1978, in Taipei, Taiwan, and is an entrepreneur, known for being one of the co-founders of the video-sharing website YouTube, for which he previously served as the chief technology officer. He also built the video sharing app MixBit, and has been a part of Google Ventures since 2014.

Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim were young engineers recruited by Max Levchin for PayPal. They worked tirelessly, often putting in 80 to 90 hours a week. Despite the challenges, they realized they worked well together and began discussing ideas for future projects.
