Mick Ralphs: The idea initially came up to do the anthology because we already have a compilation (10 From 6), and rather than put out another sort of best-of collection, we thought it would be a good idea to release a history of the band without having it be anything beyond that. The record company thought it was a great idea and asked if we had any material that hadn’t been released.

A founder member of the iconic Pop/Rock group Mott The Hoople, he went on to found the even bigger Bad Company and still finds time to be an active member of both Mott and Bad Co., as well as of his own eponymous Blues band.
Bad Company were an English rock supergroup that was formed in London [2] in 1973 by singer Paul Rodgers, drummer Simon Kirke (both ex- Free ), guitarist Mick Ralphs (ex- Mott the Hoople) and bassist Boz Burrell (ex- King Crimson ). [3] Peter Grant, who managed the rock band Led Zeppelin, also managed Bad Company until 1982.

Jan 26, 2024 · Actually, I played guitar throughout “Rock and Roll Fantasy,” including the solo, and Mick very kindly let me go ahead. He added some unique touches, as only Mick Ralphs can. The solo was just part of the composition. I thought, Well, I’ll just stick it on myself. I used what was at the time a new cutting-edge Roland synth guitar.
