4 days ago · I don’t think I’ll get over it. I see it in line with a Superbad or a Somewhere or an Inside Llewyn Davis. Has the air of an instant classic but maybe only for a certain kind of person. If TNT still exists in fifteen years a heavily censored version of this movie will play on a loop. The response to this movie has been fascinating.

3 days ago · Not really, no. And certainly not music memoirs. I avoid most music memoirs and music movies. If I’m reading stuff, it’s fiction and fantasy. My favorite music movie is probably the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis, that’s just great. I love how it’s a film narrative that doesn’t tell a success story, but rather the opposite.
