Hello, I purchased a tascam 488 MkII some month ago, and it doesn't work at all, when I plug it it makes some noises but that's all, I think the problem may be the trans power (i.e pic 2) but I'm not sure, so I ask y'all if I'm correct or not and if so what I could do like repair or replace it, and how much that would cost etc..
2 days ago · If you can't find them locally, just call Tascam or a Tascam service center and get the belt kit for your unit. As far as cleaning, use head cleaner or isopropyl alcohol on the heads and capstans. Use rubber cleaner/rejuvinator (again found at electronics stores) on pinch roller/belts.
