Your files should be saved locally to the PC. If you wish to remove OneDrive app from the PC at all, you may do so after unlinking the account.

May 11, 2022 · Glad to hear you like On This Day in OneDrive. As for your questions: 1. OneDrive web has "On this day". But I haven't found this feature in the latest version on OneDrive for PC. 2. Unfortunately, I can't find an option to set On This Day to another date on OneDrive web. It's very likely that there is no such option.
