Here is a section of the piece I was working on. I was able to get three systems on the front page, but couldn't get more than two on pages 2-3.

Jan 1, 2024 · Historicist Composer of classical-romantic style chamber and orchestral music. Finale 2.4 to Finale 2010. Logic Pro 8, Digital Performer, Loaded MAC Tower, two screens, a whole bag of sample libraries including Full GPO, some VSL, True Strike 1 and 2, and now Xsample Chamber Instruments and I have a long ways to go to understand how us all of this.... but quite familiar with Finale!

A composer should write music any way he/she feels comfortable. I always write directly to the computer. You still have to know what you are doing in regard to orchestration. Sometimes the computer makes sections of music sound good but when played by real musicians, it sounds bad. (because its not balanced correctly) Finale is only a tool.

Apr 22, 2016 · I will be working on a big project, making parts for a large orchestral piece (for the "London Philharmonic Orchestra" by the way) . I will have a day or two to do this and I think I will manage to make professional looking parts. But the cue notes!! There is no time for changing stem length.
