Dec 31, 2012 · Shaw response: Your question was forwarded to the Shaw Direct technical escalation department, which would be happy to help you with this. To be able to view FX Canada - Channel 251/Classic, 334/Advanced – one has to have a receiver that is a dsr600, dsr605, or dvr630. FX Canada is a channel that uses an encoding format called MPEG-4.
Jul 2, 2013 · Shaw Direct in my RV. I have been a shaw direct (starchoice) customer for 13 years and for the last 10 I have taken a dish and receiver in my RV with me. It has worked well. I read through the Home away from Home thread and I still have some questions about my shaw direct setup and if it will still work in my RV since the recent changes.

If you live in the Senators region your A-Channel Ottawa will get you about 20 sens games too.
Dec 8, 2006 · Very satisfied with Shaw Direct I've been a Shaw Direct customer since 2003, migrating from a basic receiver to the 530. Their picture quality on HD channels is outstanding, the SD channels are OK. I have had no problems with the 530 (knock on wood) with the exception of having to do a hard shut down/reboot on occasion.
Jul 11, 2012 · Bayguy: Are you allowing for the channel discrepancy between the classic and the advanced line up? I notice that the list that majortom pointed out is showing the old classic lineup which is what my father in-law has but if you are a newer Shaw Direct customer you quite likely have the advanced lineup with channels in the 0xx and 1xx ranges unlike the classic lineip which starts in the 2xx range.

The transition to HEVC (AKA H.265) will improve compression by about 25% to 50%. I've got to wonder why Shaw hasn't shut Shaw Satellite down or sold it to Bell.
