The log file "C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Endpoint Defense\Logs\SSP.log" will then hopefully give you an idea as to what is happening that is keeping SSPService so busy.

Mar 17, 2023 · I am looking to replace my XG 125 hardware firewall with Sophos Home Edition. This is for a home data center. I understand the Home Edition supports up to 6GB and four processor cores, so I'd be looking for something at least that size, preferably a bit larger (say 16GB or more). Beefy enough to support IPS/DPS/anti-virus/Web protection, etc.
Nov 22, 2021 · Adios Sophos (Free Version is Gone) So it appears that the non-premium version of Sophos Home has been silently moved from "Free Edition" to "Free Trial". The dashboard is no longer functional and after updating the software it appears essentially bricked with nothing but an ad for premium. Feels like the beginning of the end for Sophos.

This enables you to set the password to 'password' on the machine. 1:open services.msc. 2: stop Sophos Anti-Virus. 3: open notepass as admin. 4: open C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\Config\machine.xml.
Feb 17, 2022 · Yes, if you're looking for a paid AV, Sophos Premium is a great option. It's basically their enterprise-level security but put into a home package, and it's pretty underrated in my opinion. It installs itself into every nook and cranny on Mac systems.

I have used Sophos XG Home for years mostly because it was the only solution I could find that would block P2P file sharing to avoid legal hassles from guest users and visitors. However, their software has really went down hill since v16 of the firmware. It is almost completely unusable because of instability.

Looking at using SophosZap.exe --confirm command in a batch file to uninstall Sophos Endpoint via Intune but haven't been successful, anyone who has successfully ran it? I have a batch file that copies zap utility to the local temp folder but doesn't seem to start the zap utility.
