- Who we are
TF1 Group (French: Groupe TF1) is a French media holding company. Its best-known property is the broadcast network TF1. The group was formed after TF1 was privatized in April 1987. It is controlled with a 43% stake by Bouygues, and is quoted on Euronext Paris.
TF1 (French: [te ɛf œ̃] ⓘ; standing for Télévision Française 1) is a French commercial television network owned by TF1 Group, controlled by the Bouygues conglomerate. TF1's average market share of 24% makes it the most popular domestic network.
Our channels occupy a unique position in the French audiovisual landscape. We are now the French market leader in free-to-air television, with a galaxy of five free channels (TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI) whose complementary editorial lines provide something for everyone.
For more than 40 years, the TF1 group has had a unique relationship with the French people. From privatisation in 1987 through European expansion in the 1990s and recent moves into digital, production and music, TF1 has kept pace with our changing society and left its mark on popular culture.
