[3] He directed the 3D filmHouse of Wax(1953), despite being unable to see in 3D himself, having lost an eye at an early age.
André De Toth was a Hungarian-born American director, writer and actor known for his tough and realistic films, especially House of Wax (1953) in 3-D. He had a distinctive feature: he wore a black eyepatch after losing his eye in a childhood accident.
