Orville Willis Forte IV ( / ˈfɔːrteɪ / FOR-tay; [1] born June 17, 1970 [2]) is an American comedian and actor. He was a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live for eight seasons from 2002 to 2010.
In 2002, Forte moved from his home state of California to New York City to join Saturday Night Live (1975) as a writer and cast member. Although known as shy and reserved in his personal life, Forte was one of the individuals responsible for the shows move to absurd, surrealist comedy.
