Brian Ernest Orser OC (born 18 December 1961) is a Canadian former competitive and professional figure skater and coach to Olympic champions. He is the 1984 and 1988 Olympic silver medallist, 1987 World champion and eight-time (1981–88) Canadian national champion.
Brian Orser truly was the best in the world! Battle of the Brians: Leading into the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games, Brian won his eight National title, a record for the Canadian Championships. Going into the games, Brian was the only world champion Canada had and he was chosen to carry the flag in the opening ceremonies.
Sep 18, 2011 · Brian Orser won back-to-back Olympic silver medals in men’s figure skating at Sarajevo 1984 and Calgary 1988. He entered the latter as the reigning world champion and was given the honour of being Team Canada’s Opening Ceremony flag bearer at the home Olympic Games.
