Kenneth Alan Howery (/ ˈ h aʊər i /; born November 4, 1975) is an American entrepreneur and diplomat. He is a co-founder of PayPal and Founders Fund. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to Sweden from 2019 to 2021 under President Donald Trump.
Ken Howery is a general partner at Founders Fund, the VC firm he co-founded with Peter Thiel after PayPal. He invested in Facebook, Zocdoc and Zenefits, and is not bothered by Thiel's political involvement.
Ken Howery is a former U.S. Ambassador to Sweden and a current board member of the Explorers Club. He also serves as the honorary chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden and the co-chair of the Fulbright Commission Sweden.
