The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (Hebrew: האקדמיה למוסיקה ולמחול בירושלים), is a school for the music and the performing arts in Jerusalem. It is located on the Givat Ram campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The field of dance includes classical ballet, modern dance, improvisation and a Department of Movement and Movement Notation, a field that has been pioneered at JAMD. Identifying talent, nurturing it and helping to realize its potential is what the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance is all about.
DanceJerusalem offers university-level artistic and technical training in the disciplines of Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance (including Ohad Naharin's GaGa), Choreography, Repertoire and Improvisation.
Our music program offers instrumental and vocal training in an array of musical styles, composition and theory classes, chamber music ensembles and orchestra practice. The Dance department provides instruction in classical and contemporary dance throughout Jerusalem.
The result is an atmosphere where Middle-eastern music, European classical music, jazz and baroque are all taught under one roof. The field of dance includes classical ballet, modern dance, improvisation and a Department of Movement and Movement Notation, a field that has been pioneered at JAMD.
