Franco Donatoni (9 June 1927 – 17 August 2000) was an Italian composer. Biography. Born in Verona, Donatoni started studying violin at the age of seven, and frequented the local music academy. Later, he studied at the Milan Conservatory and, from 1948, at the Bologna Conservatory. [1] At least three generations of composers studied with Donatoni.

Franco Donatoni was born June 9th 1927 in Verona, Italy. He studied composition with Ettore Desderi at the ‘Guiseppe Verdi’ Conservatory in Milano, with Battista Martini in Bologna and with Ildebrando Pizzetti at the ‘Academia Nazionale di S. Cecilia’ in Roma.

Franco Donatoni was born in Verona on June 9th,1927. He began his musical education at the musical secondary school of his native town under Piero Bottagisio, and later studied composition with Ettore Desderi at the "G. Verdi" Conservatory of Milan and Lino Liviabella at the "G.B. Martini" Conservatory of Bologna.
