Two Living, One Dead is a 1961 British-Swedish existentialist thriller film directed by Anthony Asquith and starring Patrick McGoohan, Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers. The film is a remake of the 1937 Norwegian film To levende og en død, which in turn was adapted from the novel of the same name by author Sigurd Christiansen.
Overview. Three Post Office employees are at work when the facility is held up. The robber kills the supervisor and knocks out another employee. The third one offers no resistance and survives unscathed.
Two survivors of a violent post office holdup experience wildly different fates. One is celebrated for heroism and the other is shunned, first by a boss who expected him to die for the firm and later by the whole community when a newspaper article suggests he was a coward.
