Cross My Heart is a 1946 American comedy film directed by John Berry and starring Betty Hutton, Sonny Tufts and Rhys Williams. It was a remake of the 1937 film True Confession , which was itself based on the 1934 French play Mon Crime written by Georges Berr and Louis Verneuil .

As a remake it doesn't match-up to Carole Lombard's True Confession (1937), but Betty Hutton is a fantastic blond in Cross My Heart (1946). They shift things over to a light musical, so she could sing a few songs. She was great at that. And while it's a simpler take on a that true classic, I still had a good time with this.
