In a mansion overlooking a beachfront, a man named Lawrence (Jim Begg) sneaks through an elaborate art collection, and makes off with an ancient scroll. The next day, Charlie Moss (Brian Cutler) and Don Pringle (Tommy Kirk) arrive in California after finishing their University classes in Arizona.
The semi-comic Catalina Caper stars Tommy Kirk as a scuba diver hired to recover a precious Chinese Scroll lost overboard near Catalina Island, for a crook (frequent Jerry Lewis foil Del Moore) who seeks to sell a fake to a Greek millionaire.
