A girl who is crazy about horses has the chance of a lifetime to take care of the famous Amerigo, Sinterklaas 's horse. She finally has a chance to ride on an actual horse on her birthday, but tragedy strikes and the horse goes missing.
Young Winky Wong has emigrated from China with her parents and lives in the Netherlands where the family runs a restaurant. The language difference creates a barrier to her making friends but things improve when she becomes very attached to Sara, an old pony kept at a local stable.
