Cephas & Wiggins was an American acoustic blues duo, composed of the guitarist John Cephas (September 4, 1930 – March 4, 2009) and the harmonica player Phil Wiggins (May 8, 1954 – May 7, 2024) They were known for playing Piedmont blues.
Cephas & Wiggins — whose style and appeal was often compared to that of an earlier Tidewater duo, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee — kept the tradition alive by infusing it with their own originality, vitality, and, most importantly, fun. The duo celebrated the gentle, melodic blues style of the southeastern U.S. with every performance.
Homemade is an album by the American musical duo Cephas & Wiggins, released in 1999. It was their second album for Alligator Records. The duo supported the album with a North American tour. Homemade was nominated for a W. C. Handy Award for best "Traditional Blues Album".
