The Sewanhaka Central High School District was founded in 1926 as a “Central High School” to serve the then sparsely populated communities that made up part of Nassau County. By the late 1950’s, the post war baby boom had changed the single high school into a Central High School District with five buildings, serving students in grades 7 through 12.
