Oct 18, 2021 · Founded in 1983, Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) collects, buys, and distributes food to those in need through both its own and agency network’s facilities. The charity operates four food distribution centres in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and North Shore.
This Virtual Food Drive platform was conceived by the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) and built by Edge Web Apps. Use of this platform to support food banks across BC is a joint project of Food Banks BC and GVFB.
Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The GVFB operates locations in the Lower Mainland, open Monday-Friday each week, excluding the week when provincial Social Assistance cheques are issued. We ask all GVFB members to register in order to access food.
Spring and Summer are busy times for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and our new Vancouver direct distribution location. Over the past two years, the GVFB has seen a drastic increase in need, now serving more than 8,500 Vancouver residents and 16,000 between all our catchment cities.
