The series follow a group of Allied pilots who crashed in occupied territories during WWII. A network of civilians and Résistants, "La Filière", is in charge of helping them pass from France to Spain so they can avoid capture.

An Allied plane is shot down near the Belgian border. Two Canadians, members of the crew, manage to jump from the aircraft. Joseph Tardy, the radio navigator, is slightly injured. Léo Crèvecoeur, the gunner, is unharmed.
