In Opera, the killer lovingly glides his knife along the televised image of Betty (Christina Marsillach), the young opera star of Verdi's Macbeth, as though he were touching her body with his phallus, equating sexual pleasure with pain.
When a young opera singer takes over the leading role in an avant-garde presentation of Verdi's Macbeth, she triggers the madness of a crazed fan who repeatedly forces the diva to watch the brutal murders of her friends.
The crows being used in the opera of Macbeth they are performing break out of their cage and the killer kills three of them. The director remembers the crow-keeper’s words that they will remember their attacker, and he releases the birds into the audience during a performance of the opera.
