The Brood was a stable in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) during the Attitude Era of the late 1990s comprised of Gangrel, Christian and Edge. Their gimmick was that of a clan of vampires, although they were often merely described by announcers as living a "gothic lifestyle".
Gangrel became a singles wrestler following the breakup of The New Brood; he was mainly used as a mid carder. In late 1999, he brought in his real-life wife Luna Vachon as his manager until she was fired.
