In his second novel, The Dain Curse, the Continental Op is asked to investigate a diamond robbery for an insurance agency. What seems to be a simple case over a handful of diamonds worth $500 gets more and more complicated and convoluted.

The Continental Op, lead character from Red Harvest, appeared in one other novel written by Dashiell Hammett - The Dain Curse (based on a series of serials). I liked the book and was excited about this made for TV movie but it appears the version on Tubi is completely missing a chapter (the most thrilling one too, so that's a bummer).
